What is in Your Tap Water?

70% of the earth is covered in water but only 3% is water fresh water we can use. From this 3% are only 1/5th is available to us for use which is now a mere 0.6% of the total. The rest is under the earth or in mountains such as the alps or Himalayas and Antarctica as ice.  We use this small 0.6% of the water again and again by reprocessing it, filtering and pasteurizing it in many different ways. This small amount we use over and over again by redirecting them to reprocess jam and bottling. Today, it has to supply of almost 7 billion people and serves not only as life-essential drinking water, but also for other daily needs and above all our food production.

The amount of water on the earth totals about 326 million cubic miles. Most of this fresh water can be found underground aquifers, wells, rivers, lakes. Water carries nutrients, chemicals and minerals wherever it goes and dissolves more substances than any other liquid. There is no such thing as a shortage of water but there is a shortage in some areas of potable water, water that people can use for drinking, washing and cleaning without being tainted. Water is constant; the same amount of water present today is the same amount of water that was here from the beginning of this planet. It may change forms but it moves in a circular cycle over the earth called hydrologic cycle. Human consumption and usage through industry and interference of natural flow have put a huge strain of the availability of surface water.

Do you have any idea what is in the water you actually drink? If it is from the tap then it possibly could have lead, copper, arsenic, germs, nitrates, rocket fuel, including faeces from humans and animals and many more hazardous elements. There are so many people taking medications for different ailments and those meds do not fully digest and there are the medications that get flushed. Some even say that up to 90% of the medications swallowed do not get digested properly, do not change or are broken down and end up excreted into the toilet anyway. Then they proceed to the water supply where you get to enjoy your new tap water beverages with a touch of modern chemistry added. So why not have some antidepressants with your morning cup of coffee? Nothing like a few steroids like prednisone with a hot tea, huh? Even the papers in the UK announced Prozac was found in the drinking water. They went on to say it is a “hidden mass medication of the unsuspecting public” and with no way to monitor the amount of PPCD or other pollutants it is becoming a public crisis. Sales of the medication such as Prozac have risen up to 24 million prescriptions a year.  In the US, Texas authorities found Prozac and other antidepressants were found in the livers, brain and muscles of bluegill fish. They also tested people that had consumed the fish but not taken the medication and found traces of the drug.

But it is not just medications that are a troublesome thought; it is also the presence of industrial chemicals that should be just as disconcerting, up to 1,500 of them. These chemicals get used in the production of items such as cleaners, shampoos, sunscreens, bubble baths, make-up, hygiene products and other personal care products. Researchers have discovered the detrimental effects of these chemicals have when introduced into the human body. Complications such as an altered endocrine, immune, respiratory systems as well as the neurological issues can persist. There is an official term that has been coined called PPCP’s Pharmaceutical and Personal Care Pollutants. This is a broad, complex as well as comprehensive list of several thousands of chemical substances.

When rain water falls to the earth during storms or light showers, the water that soaks into the soil and fills areas over cracks and pores in subsurface rocks and fractured rocks becomes either ground water or surface water by flowing into lakes, streams, rivers, reservoirs to aquifers to recharge the ground water supply. Aquifers provide water to wells and some types of cisterns to make up the overall water table. Most man made well require pumps to bring the water to the surface but the artesian wells are under natural pressure and bring water to the surface on their own. Areas that have a permeable ground are susceptible to pollutants such, pesticides and fertilizers used by farmers they are also at risk by landfills, septic tanks and underground petroleum storage tanks that could possibly develop leaks.  The situation in general is not improving as populations grow and demand for water rises.

Fluoridation - Some Eye-Opening Facts

Fluoride is another major hazard to your health when drinking tap water, the governments around the world that fluorinate drinking water does so because they say there is a reduction in tooth decay. However, there are just as many if not more research to show the contrary; an increase in tooth and gum disease as well as additional adverse reaction to one’s health.  Researchers from York University produced a report on this topic and the British health department used it to fluorinate the water. Several scientists that worked on the report stated in an interview that the content in the report was misconstrued and taken out of context and they believe consuming fluorinated water is unsafe or at least inconclusive at best. The fluoride put into drinking water is not a natural occurring calcium fluoride, but rather a by-product from the chemical industry called Haxafluorosilicate acid. The UK government will not reveal the source of this by-product. Former BBC producer explained this process in a book called ‘The Fluoride deception’. Most dentists are unaware that the fluoride is a pharmaceutical industry manmade waste by product. It is indeed a waste product from the Florida Phosphate industry. Most of the other European countries have interpreted the science correctly and have not risked treated their water with Fluoride. The public has a right to decide if they want the water they use and consume to be treated with this potentially harmful chemical. Studies are beginning to show there are not just adverse physical effects but also psychological effects. The authorities responsible for fluorinating our water, are in a sense medicating us without our consent and no matter how you look at it this is wrong. So do yourself and your family a favour and research what you all are consuming, be proactive and take responsibility for your own health. Never take someone’s word that something is safe. Do your due diligence, make an intelligent decision and start drinking alkaline, ionized water for your health’s sake.
